Can you believe that July is already over? Honestly, I’m glad to see the end of summer nearing. Fall is my most favorite season, and I’m super excited to see it approaching! But, before I get ahead of myself, let’s take a look back at all that was July 2013 here at BetweenWeekdays.
June 28 marked our six-month anniversary of living in our blue house. It’s crazy to think that we’ve already been here for six months. It was fun to look back at all the changes we’ve made to this house, but it was also a bit daunting to look forward at everything that we’ve yet to tackle. Here’s to the next six months!
Up next, I wished you all a very happy Independence Day weekend! Our festivities were mostly rained out, but we did manage to squeeze in a cookout, a party and a (two-week later) fireworks show.
The tour of our blue house finally continued in the living room! This room has come a long way but still lacks wall art, and I’m toying around with adding a pop of color. I think I’ve got a pretty good basis to add something fun to the space, I just haven’t figured it all out yet.
Since it is officially summertime, we made a couple of major purchases for the outside. I can’t wait to show you the building in its new home!
I wrapped up the Gender Neutral Sweet Baby Shower posts with a fun look at all of the little details that make an event so special. There aren’t any more baby showers on the docket for this year, but I’d love to host one again.
I was happy to host my first giveaway here on the blog this month. When SimplyBridal contacted me to do the giveaway, I knew my readers would love their products. Congratulations again to Nicole Dunlop!
I couldn’t let July slip past without sharing my Christmas in July preparations! Each year in July, I take a day to sort through and organize all of the Christmas gifts I’ve already accumulated. Starting early on all of the Christmas gifting helps me to enjoy a stress-free holiday. Plus, it’s fun to look ahead to Christmas when the temperatures outside are sweltering!
Recently I decided to take a hard look at this house to identify what really needed to be completed. The answer? Painting. It looks like I’ll be spending the next year painting. I can already feel my hand beginning to cramp.
What’s in store for August? August will wrap up gardening season, so that means I’ll be canning! I’m looking forward to sharing an end-of-the season gardening post and a couple of canning posts, as well. I’m also hoping to complete at least one of my painting projects. See you in August!
