May 2013 Month in Review

Hi all! I hope you all enjoyed the month of May as much as I did. We’ve actually only been back from vacation for about a week, so I’m still settling back into the daily swing of things. Let’s take a quick look back at the mont of May before we head full speed into June.

First up, I shared with you some inspiration for a baby shower I’m hosting in a couple of weeks.

I’m so excited to plan and host this baby shower for some of our nearest and dearest friends, who have also proven to be great inspirations for their shower.

Just in time for the quarterly Pinterest Challenge, I whipped up several Pinterest-inspired baby shower projects. This post receive quite a bit of traffic, so thank you for visiting!

We took a break from baby shower planning and moved onto baking; yum! First I showed you how to properly grease and flour a cake pan. (p.s. every time I intended to type “flour,” I actually typed “flower” while writing this post. Here’s hoping I caught all the typos.)

Then, I shared one of my favorite (and super easy!) bundt cake recipes with you: butter pecan bundt cake.

The next post was actually a repost from last year when I shared with you my large-scale paint chip art. To date, this is the only piece of art hanging in our master bedroom. This post was featured on If It’s Not Baroque. It’s my first-ever feature. Thank you again Lauren!

May is birthday month around here, so I whipped up a birthday-themed tablescape to help us celebrate. The store-bought cupcakes were delicious!

Next, I shared with you some of our favorite pet products. During the past six and a half years of pet ownership, I’ve been on a constant quest to find the perfect products for our furbabies.

I finally got around to personalizing our laundry room a bit when I made a clothespin photo wreath. I love it so much. Be sure to check the post for a full tutorial.

With the baby shower quickly approaching, I thought it might be a good idea to share with you some of the finer details. I also shared with you a photo of the closet holding all the baby shower goodness. Yikes!

With all of the upcoming June weddings, I reposted How to Freeze a the Top Tier of a Wedding Cake. I updated the text and photos a bit, but it was originally posted in September of 2012. So far, we’re only attending one June wedding. How about you?

The last post of the month was on one of my favorite topics: gardening. For the first time ever, I have the large garden of my dreams. This post details what I’ve planted and some of my favorite gardening tips. I look forward to sharing an end-of-summer garden update with all of you, too.

What’s on the docket for June? A baby shower! I’ve only got a week left to clean up the outside, finalize the menu, and figure out how to make it all come together. Other than that, expect to see some more of our house as we continue the tour, maybe some more crafting and definitely more food-related posts.

What’s on your agenda for June? I hope it’s full of fun!
